DOWNTOWN — Chicago’s skies will be full of fireworks in celebration of the Fourth of July come Thursday.

There are fireworks, cruises, picnics and more planned. Navy Pier will be crowded, as always, but there are also some, er, “unofficial” shows across the city.

When: Departs 8 p.m.
Where: 112 E. Wacker Drive

Where: The parade starts near 54th Street and Lake Park Avenue and ends at Nichols Park, 1355 E. 53rd St.

Chicago History Museum 60th Annual Fourth of July Celebration
When: A series of events kick off at 10 a.m. with a singing of the National Anthem. The museum will be free for Illinois residents noon-4:30 p.m.

North Mayfair Fourth of July Parade
When: 9-11:30 a.m.
Where: Palmer Elementary School, 5051 N. Kenneth Ave.
